About us

The School of Respirology, based at Amsterdam University Medical Center in the Netherlands, specializes in bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonology, and airway management. With over 15 years of experience, the school has hosted numerous courses for pulmonologists, intensivists, endoscopy nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The institution is dedicated to advancing interventional bronchoscopy through hands-on training and the development of innovative technologies. Their state-of-the-art interventional pulmonology unit practices standard techniques such as endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS, EUS), rigid bronchoscopy, and thoracoscopy, while also exploring new methods like bronchoscopic lung volume reduction, bronchial thermoplasty, conebeam CT navigation bronchoscopy and imaging techniques such as confocal laser endomicroscopy and higher harmonic generation imaging.

The School of Respirology currently organizes the annual “Amsterdam Bronchoscopy Course” course, a three-day modular program designed to enhance the skills of medical professionals in this field. The upcoming Amsterdam Bronchoscopy Course is scheduled for June 11-13, 2025.
